Spotify Wrapped 2025 Release Date & Cut-Off: What UK Listeners Need to Know
Spotify Wrapped 2025: Release Date & Data Cut-Off Revealed

The annual digital Christmas calendar is about to deliver its most anticipated gift for music fans across the UK. Spotify Wrapped, the personalised summary of your yearly listening habits, is poised to drop very soon, turning social media feeds into a festival of musical identity and friendly competition.

When Will Spotify Wrapped 2025 Land on Your Phone?

While Spotify has yet to announce an official launch date, a clear pattern has emerged from previous years, offering a strong clue. For the past four years, the feature has been released on a Wednesday in late November or early December.

Looking at the recent schedule: in 2024 it arrived on Wednesday, December 4, in 2023 it was Wednesday, November 29, 2022 saw it on Wednesday, November 30, and 2021's edition landed on Wednesday, December 1.

This historical trend points strongly to Wednesday, December 3, 2025 as the most probable release date for this year's Wrapped. Spotify has already begun the traditional teaser campaign, posting on X (formerly Twitter) on December 1 with the message: "Who do you think is on your Wrapped?" accompanied by a 'coming soon' graphic.

The company's official stance remains coy, with a recent message advising users: "Keep playing what you love, and we’ll get in touch when it’s ready. Until then, revisit the top songs of 2024." To ensure you see your Wrapped the moment it goes live, make sure your Spotify app is fully updated.

The Data Cut-Off: Does Listening Stop Counting on Halloween?

A persistent myth among Spotify users suggests that the service stops counting streams for Wrapped on October 31st. Spotify has directly addressed and denied this rumour. Last year, the company posted on X to clarify: "Don’t worry, Wrapped is still counting past Oct. 31."

In reality, the data collection window for the annual review is believed to close in early- to mid-November. This gives Spotify a few weeks to compile the vast amounts of personalised data before the late November or early December launch. So, your frantic November listening to secure a top artist spot is not in vain.

Recapping 2024's Global Chart-Toppers

As we await the 2025 data, Spotify's worldwide Wrapped results for 2024 offer a reminder of last year's musical landscape. Taylor Swift reigned supreme as the most-streamed global artist, amassing a staggering 26.6 billion streams from January 1 onwards.

The rest of the top artist list was populated by major names:

  • Second place: The Weeknd
  • Third place: Bad Bunny
  • Followed by: Drake, Billie Eilish, and Travis Scott

The battle for most-streamed song was a different story. The top track globally was 'Espresso' by Sabrina Carpenter, followed by Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things', and Billie Eilish's 'Birds of a Feather'. The fourth and fifth spots were taken by 'Gata Only' by FloyyMenor and Cris MJ, and 'Lose Control' by Teddy Swims.

Is Spotify Wrapped only for Premium subscribers? Good news for all users: Wrapped is available to both Free and Premium account holders. However, Premium subscribers typically receive extra layers of personalised data, such as the number of new artists they discovered over the year.

For those who simply cannot wait, rival streaming service Deezer has already launched its 'My Deezer Year' recap. Their data suggests the most streamed songs globally this year include tracks by Rosé, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, Alex Warren, and Benson Boone.

One thing is certain: within days, the UK's social media landscape will be awash with colourful Wrapped graphics, revealing the soundtracks to millions of British lives over the past twelve months.
