Kylie Minogue Eyes Glastonbury 2027 Return & Unveils New Christmas Album
Kylie Minogue confirms Glastonbury 2027 ambition

Global pop sensation Kylie Minogue has expressed her unequivocal desire to return to the hallowed grounds of Glastonbury Festival, setting her sights on a potential headline performance in 2027.

A Legend's Ambition for Worthy Farm

The singer, often hailed as a national treasure, made a triumphant debut in the festival's legendary slot back in 2019, a performance she describes as the gig of her life. Despite the festival's planned fallow year in 2026, which allows the Somerset site to recover, Minogue is already looking ahead. She confirmed that if the Eavis family, who organise the event, called about 2027, her answer would be a definitive '100 per cent yes'.

Reflecting on her iconic Pyramid Stage set, the 57-year-old star admitted the experience was beyond compare. 'Nothing in my experiences compared to Glastonbury. I think globally, it’s viewed that way,' she said. The memory remains a 'pinch-me moment', with Minogue joking that the idea she would ever play there 'doesn’t compute'.

'Buckle the Buckle' with New Festive Tunes

As she contemplates a future Glastonbury return, Minogue is not resting on her laurels. She is preparing to release new music this festive season with 'Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped)', a revamped edition of her classic holiday album marking its 10th anniversary. The updated collection, set for release on December 5, blends beloved collaborations with Frank Sinatra and her sister Dannii Minogue with four brand new tracks.

Among the fresh offerings is the energetic 'XMAS', a track she playfully spells out, hinting at its potential to become a new gay anthem. Another highlight is the cheeky 'Office Party', where Minogue imagines a regular 9-to-5 life, despite never having had a traditional day job. 'I haven’t stopped working all my life,' she clarified with a laugh.

Facing the Queen of Christmas

The new album could propel Minogue into the race for the coveted Christmas number one spot, a challenge she views with characteristic grace. When asked about competing with the reigning festive monarch, Mariah Carey, Minogue responded with pure sincerity: 'That’s like trying to stop a tidal wave. MC will always be Christmas.'

However, she hasn't ruled out the possibility, adding that the prospect would make her feel like it was 1988 all over again, which she described as 'a lot of fun'. For now, fans can pre-order the album and mark their calendars for a potential Glastonbury 2027 spectacular, as Kylie Minogue looks to 'buckle the buckle' and complete her festival circle.
