Croydon Southern trains: Late-night changes and bus replacements
Croydon Southern trains: Late-night changes and bus replacements

Southern passengers travelling through Croydon face late-night train changes this week as engineering work closes railway lines and disrupts services towards London. Buses will replace trains to Caterham and Tattenham Corner after approximately 11.55pm from Monday to Thursday.

Other late-night services will also be diverted, terminate early or skip stations, including trains travelling between East Croydon, London Victoria and Watford Junction. The changes will affect services from Monday, October 12, to Thursday, October 15.

Engineering work between Purley and Caterham

Engineering work between Purley and Caterham and Tattenham Corner will close all lines late each evening from Monday to Thursday. After approximately 11.55pm, buses will replace trains between East Croydon and Caterham, and between Purley and Tattenham Corner. Passengers using these routes should allow extra time for their journeys.

Other late-night train changes

Engineering work in the Balham and Clapham Junction areas will also affect several services from Monday to Thursday evening. The 10.10pm East Croydon to Watford Junction train will terminate at Shepherds Bush. Passengers can use alternative London Overground trains between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction at no extra cost.

The 11.07pm Epsom Downs to London Victoria train will not stop at Battersea Park. Passengers travelling to London Victoria should change at Clapham Junction for a connecting train. Those travelling to Battersea Park should continue to London Victoria and catch a train back to Battersea Park.

Additional service disruptions

The 11.42pm Watford Junction to Clapham Junction train will not run. Passengers can use alternative London Overground or London Northwestern Railway services at no extra cost. The 11.58pm London Victoria to Streatham Hill train will terminate at Balham instead, with a replacement bus running between Balham and Streatham Hill.

Passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling, particularly if using late-night services or travelling to stations affected by the changes.
