Roman Scott, a 35-year-old from Sutton, has been sentenced to six months in prison after a 13-hour spree of exposing himself and masturbating on trains across England. The incidents occurred on December 14 and 15, 2025, spanning London, Bournemouth, and Manchester, and Scott was found guilty of five counts of exposure at Salisbury Crown Court on September 25.
Incidents began on London Victoria train
Shortly after 11pm on December 14, 2025, Scott boarded a train at London Victoria and sat near a couple of women. He then exposed and touched himself before being forced off the service by other passengers. The following morning, on a midday train from Southampton to Bournemouth, he again sat near several women and repeated the same act.
Hours later, once the train arrived at its final stop in Bournemouth, Scott went to the ladies' toilets and exposed himself to a woman. He then boarded a train to Manchester, where he sat next to a young woman, blocking her in, and began masturbating. The young woman and other passengers reported the incident to the train guard, but Scott continued, exposing himself and making sexual advances to another woman.
Arrest and investigation
As the second woman walked away, Scott followed her down the train and blocked her path, forcing her to push past him to escape. He then sat down and passed out, allowing rail staff to identify him as the same man who had been in the ladies' toilets in Bournemouth. British Transport Police officers arrived to find Scott asleep while still exposing himself and took him into custody.
In interview, Scott claimed his behaviour was a complete accident and attributed it to being drunk, saying, "drinking just gets the better of me sometimes." However, the court rejected this defence, and he was found guilty of five counts of exposure.
Sentencing and court order
In addition to the six-month prison sentence, Scott was placed on the sex offenders register for a decade and handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which prohibits him from sitting next to or opposite unknown women. British Transport Police Detective Constable Ewen Roberts said: "Scott acted appallingly and disgustingly towards a number of women in such a short period of time, repeatedly subjecting them to horrific ordeals for his own sexual gratification."
Roberts added: "There is no place for sexual offending on the railway network, and never any excuse for the sort of behaviour Scott displayed. I am pleased to see him brought to account for his actions including time in prison and strict conditions he will have to follow for a decade when he's released." He also encouraged victims of sexual offences on the railway to report incidents via the discreet text line 61016.
