Tyson Fury's Comeback Fight to Stream Live on Netflix in UK First

In a groundbreaking move for sports broadcasting, Tyson Fury's highly anticipated comeback fight will be broadcast live on Netflix, marking the streaming giant's first ever live event from the United Kingdom. The heavyweight clash, scheduled for 11 April 2026, will see Fury exit retirement to face Russian contender Arslanbek Makhmudov, with the exact location yet to be confirmed.

Historic Broadcast Deal and Fight Details

The bout has been arranged in collaboration with boxing's latest influential figure, Turki Alalshikh, and his publication, The Ring. Alalshikh expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating: "We are happy that Tyson decided to come out of retirement for what should be an exciting heavyweight clash against Makhmudov." Fury, who retired for the fourth time last year, will return to fight in Britain for the first time in four years, aiming to extend his impressive professional record of 34 wins and one loss.

His opponent, Makhmudov, brings a formidable record of 21 wins from 23 fights, with 13 of those victories achieved within the first round, setting the stage for a potentially explosive encounter.

Fighters' Statements and Netflix's Role

Fury, known as "The Gypsy King," shared his excitement about returning to the ring: "[I'm] excited to be back. [My] heart's always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back!" Makhmudov responded with equal fervour, declaring: "I am thrilled about the opportunity. I'm coming to deliver a War. Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W."

The fight card will be available to Netflix's 325 million subscribers at no additional cost, a strategic move by the streaming platform, which recently attributed subscriber growth to an expanded live sports offering. Gabe Spitzer of Netflix commented: "I have long admired Fury as one of the most resilient and captivating boxers of his generation. We are incredibly excited to see him come out of retirement for this massive homecoming, and we love giving our members a front-row seat to the next chapter of his legacy."

This event builds on Netflix's existing partnership with Fury, which includes his reality television show, At Home With the Furys, highlighting the platform's deepening investment in sports content.
