Reform UK councillor Dean Miller from Bromley has resigned from the party after being secretly filmed using racist language, including referring to black children as "animals" and making unfounded claims about King Charles. The footage, obtained by ITV's undercover team, was recorded while Miller was campaigning for the party during the Makerfield by-election and is set to air in full on Sunday (October 18) as part of the broadcaster's exclusive report Undercover - A Year In Reform.
Miller, who represents the St Paul's Cray ward on Bromley Council, was elected in May. In the recording, he is heard saying: "Like all the ethnic f****** kids, they're not white, they're all f****** black, and they're like f****** animals. It's horrible to say it. I'm not racist." The comments were made while discussing vandalism in Bromley, according to ITV's report.
Offensive remarks about King Charles and London
In another clip, Miller claims King Charles is secretly a Muslim and suggests violence against him. He said: "Someone from the inside saw a f****** prayer mat and all that in one of his f****** rooms. I think that's f****** traitorous. Cut the c***'* head off, sorry."
In a separate conversation, also secretly filmed, Miller alleged that London has been "ethnically cleansed", adding: "You never used to get any blacks over in Bromley, and now Bromley [has] massive Nigerian communities there."
Resignation and council status
Miller told ITV he had been heavily medicated at the time due to a chronic pain condition and has since resigned from Reform UK. Bromley Council's website currently lists him as an independent councillor.
ITV's investigation reportedly found a number of other Reform councillors and party candidates across England and Wales using racist and sexist language during local elections and by-election campaigns over the past year. Reform UK, Bromley Council, and Dean Miller have been contacted for comment.
