Bison Tosses Grandfather in Yellowstone

A 65-year-old grandfather from Washington state was thrown into the air by a 2,000lb (900kg) bull bison during a visit to Yellowstone National Park on Friday, sustaining broken bones. Carl McDaniel was visiting the park with his grandson when the encounter occurred.

Video Captures the Attack

The incident was recorded by professional photographer Mike MacLeod, who described the animal as 'agitated, pissed off and charging anything and everything.' The video shows the bison charging at McDaniel, tossing him approximately 8 feet into the air.

Injuries and Aftermath

McDaniel suffered broken bones as a result of the attack but later stated that the situation could have been worse. He expressed gratitude that his grandson was not harmed. Park officials remind visitors to maintain a safe distance from wildlife, as bison can be unpredictable and dangerous.
