Harry Styles Announces Global Tour Amid Fan Criticism Over New York Residency
Harry Styles has revealed his highly anticipated Together, Together Tour, marking his first concert series in three years. The announcement, made yesterday on January 22, 2026, has sparked a wave of excitement but also significant discontent among his dedicated fanbase regarding the tour's structure.
Tour Details and Global Stops
The global tour will commence in May 2026, with Styles performing in a select number of international cities. Fans can catch the superstar in Amsterdam, New York, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Melbourne, and Sydney. Notably, the former One Direction member will play six nights at London's iconic Wembley Stadium during the summer months, a highlight for UK audiences.
Styles shared promotional posters on social media featuring images of people kissing, accompanied by the caption: “Together, Together. 2026.” The tour will also feature a roster of special guests, including country-pop legend Shania Twain, acclaimed DJ Jamie XX, rising electroclash duo Fcukers, Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn, and soulful artist Jorja Smith.
Fan Backlash Over Madison Square Garden Residency
While many fans are thrilled by the news, a vocal segment has expressed frustration with the tour's scheduling. A major point of contention is that 30 out of the 50 shows will be held at New York's Madison Square Garden, leading some to dub the tour a “residency” rather than a traditional global circuit.
Fans have taken to social media platforms like X to voice their concerns, arguing that this approach shifts the financial burden of travel onto audiences. One user, Luciana, posted: “Maybe unpopular opinion, but I hate this residence type touring because it basically shifts the costs of travel to the fans. It used to be the artists trying to get to many fans as possible, now WE have to spend extra money on flights and hotels if we want to see the show.”
Another fan, Lumi, added: “So fans of an artist are expected to buy tickets for €800 with two days notice, book flights and other travel, book hotels and take the take time off work because the artist is staying in one location and they call that a tour.”
Some critics have pointed out the irony of the tour's “Together, Together” slogan, with one remarking: “How r we fans supposed to be together?!” in reference to the limited city stops.
Defence from Supporters and Ticket Information
Despite the backlash, other fans have rushed to defend Styles. Sel commented: “Yes, harry is going to only do 50 shows in like six cities...you're so right...let's just pretend his site doesn't say 2026-2027 and that he didn't spend three years touring for love on tour...you're all so smart!!”
For those eager to attend, tickets for the London leg of the tour will go on pre-sale on January 26 at 11am, followed by general sale on January 30 at 11am.
