“I mean, it’s Robron! Of course I’m going to want a wedding at some point when the time feels right,” Shaw told Metro. “I think at the moment, they’ve just got Emmerdale Farm, so they’re wanting to build that. What we’re going to see over the next few weeks and coming months is Robert starting empire build a little bit, a bit more of the Sugdens back in the fold, putting their name back on the map, so I think they’re going to be concentrating on that for a little while but, you know, 2027 watch out!”
That places the wedding somewhere in 2027, though whether it will be at the start or the end of the year remains to be seen. “For the rest of the year, there are so many shocks, so many twists, so many turns. At the moment, we’ve just been planning Christmas and new year,” Shaw enthused. “And everything that we’ve got coming up then as well is absolutely going to be top notch. It’s so exciting.”
With over two decades of experience living and breathing Emmerdale, Shaw has earned the trust of fans. It promises to be a thrilling ride between now and 2027 – even if the confetti has to stay on the shelf for a little while longer.
