A cherished South London museum has triumphantly announced its reopening, more than a year after a destructive fire nearly consumed the historic building. The Crystal Palace Museum, which was forced to shut its doors following a severe blaze on January 24, will welcome the public once again in Spring 2026.

Furthermore, the trust has outlined ambitious goals to enhance physical accessibility and to creatively redisplay the museum's unique archive, which documents the internationally significant history of the Crystal Palace site.
"Looking ahead, we will seek funding to improve accessibility and redisplay the museum’s unique archive celebrating this internationally significant site," the trust's spokesperson added. "We look forward to welcoming visitors and volunteers back as this chapter begins."

The announcement has been met with enthusiastic support from local representatives. Councillors Ryan Thomson and Ruth McGregor shared their excitement, calling it "Brilliant news that the Crystal Palace Museum will be reopening this spring."
