Australian frozen yoghurt chain Yo-Chi will open its first UK store in Notting Hill, West London, this August, marking the brand's debut in Europe. The new venue, located at 85 Notting Hill Gate, W11 3JS, spans over 2,000 square feet across two floors and can accommodate more than 120 guests.
From Melbourne to London
Since its establishment in Melbourne in 2012, Yo-Chi has grown from four Australian sites to over 75 locations across Australia and Singapore. The London opening adds to its expanding portfolio and coincides with a growing number of Australians relocating to the UK capital in recent years.
The self-serve model allows customers to customize their frozen yoghurt with a variety of toppings, from fresh fruit to Oreos, with the final price determined by the weight of the pot. The venue's interior features modern design, warm lighting, detailed light fixtures, and panelling, creating a chic atmosphere. It will also include an in-store DJ booth for events and a signature strawberry disco ball.
Employment opportunities and opening details
Yo-Chi has already begun hiring for the new location, with job postings appearing on platforms like Glassdoor. The posting reads: "Join our team at Yo-Chi's brand-new Notting Hill venue and be part of something exciting! We're on the lookout for fun, energetic, and passionate people to help us bring the Yo-Chi experience to London as we open our doors in August."
Pay rates vary by age: £10-£11 per hour for ages 16-17, £12-£13 for ages 18-20, and £13.50-£14 for those 21 and over. Training may begin as early as August 17, though an official opening date has not been confirmed, with the end of August looking likely.
Future expansion plans
While unconfirmed, reports suggest Yo-Chi may open two additional stores in Clapham and Islington. The Notting Hill site is located next to Hobson House, in the former Le Pain Quotidien building, with branding already visible on the exterior.
