4 London restaurants added to Michelin Guide in July 2026

Michelin's anonymous inspectors have once again reshuffled their recommendations, adding 12 establishments across the UK and Ireland during July 2026. Four of those are in the capital, each flying the flag for a different culinary tradition: Japanese, Greek, Indian and British.

From a grand former bank in Marylebone to a modern Greek taverna in Chiltern Place, a Himalayan-inspired street-food spot in Surbiton and a British brasserie inside a Chelsea hotel, the new arrivals show the sheer breadth of what London's dining scene has to offer. Here's the full lowdown on each new entry.

Aki: Modern Japanese in a Grade II-listed bank

The Marylebone restaurant Aki launched in October in a spectacular former bank on Cavendish Square, and its glamorous setting is matched by a menu of modern farm-to-table Japanese cooking. Think caramelised black cod, wagyu gyoza and a comprehensive selection of sashimi, nigiri and maki.

Downstairs, in the old bank vaults, lies Kiyori, a lively bar serving Japanese-inspired cocktails. Highlights include rum with yuzu, lime juice and yuzu foam, as well as a vodka number with green tea vermouth and absinthe served on a matcha-infused ball of ice. Aki is at 1 Cavendish Square, W1G 0LA.

Clio: Contemporary Greek with a speedy Michelin nod

Clio, a modern Greek restaurant on the ground floor of the luxurious Chiltern Place apartments in Marylebone, joined the guide just over a month after opening. The menu is a celebration of grilled fish and seasonal produce, with standout dishes including whole blue lobster with tomato orzo and oregano, roast wild sea bass fillet with Florina pepper and fennel salad, and suckling pig with salsa.

Michelin was clearly impressed, praising Clio's fresh flavours, concise wine list and staff who are 'as warm and friendly as they are attentive'. You can find it at 66 Chiltern Street, W1U 4EJ.

Koyal: Himalayan roots and a £20 lunch in Surbiton

Koyal on Brighton Road in Surbiton might sit on the fringes of London, but it's well worth the journey. The kitchen is led by chef Nand Kishor Semwal, who previously headed up Michelin-starred spots Trishna and Gymkhana. At Koyal, he draws on his Himalayan upbringing, serving street-food classics such as pani puri and koliwada fish alongside heartier mains like gosht saagwala and wild boar vindaloo.

It's also a great-value option: the two-course set lunch costs just £20 per person. The restaurant is at 59-63 Brighton Road, Surbiton, KT6 5LR.

Willett's: British comfort food with a nod to daylight saving

The final new London addition is Willett's, the brand-new restaurant and bar at Chelsea's Cadogan hotel. Named after William Willett, the man who campaigned for British Summer Time, the place lives up to its heritage. Michelin says it 'flies the flag for British ingredients, recipes and even wine', and the menu certainly reflects that.

Expect comforting mains such as lamb faggot, beef wellington and posh fish and chips, plus nostalgic desserts like jam roly-poly, sticky toffee pudding and custard tarts. There's also a whole section dedicated to sourdough crumpets, served with toppings ranging from marmite butter and cherry jam to duck liver parfait, Dorset crab or mushroom and truffle. Willett's is at 75 Sloane Street, SW1X 9SG.
