Open Beta Start Time and Access
The open beta for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls begins on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 8am BST in the UK, running for 72 hours until Monday, July 27 at 7:59am BST. The beta is free for everyone on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. No sign-up is required, but a PlayStation account is needed on PS5. Pre-downloads are available two hours before the beta goes live, so from 6am BST on July 24.
Character Roster and Stages
The beta includes 15 playable characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Storm, Magik, Wolverine, Danger, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker, Ghost Rider, Blade, Doctor Doom, and Magneto. The full game will launch with 20 characters. Players can fight across six stages: Marvel's New York (Day), Savage Land, X-Mansion, Knowhere, Wakanda, and Marvel's New York (Night).
Game Modes Available
The beta offers casual and ranked online matches, local Versus Mode, and an open lobby with miniature avatars. A tutorial Start Up Battle and Training Mode are included for newcomers. For the first time, players can try the first three chapters of the Amazing Guardians storyline in Episode Mode, featuring Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker.
Game Details
Developed by Guilty Gear creators Arc System Works and published by Sony, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 Marvel fighter launching on August 6, 2026. It borrows mechanics from Guilty Gear Strive and serves as an alternative to the Marvel Vs. Capcom series, without Capcom characters. According to the announcement, the open beta is intended to stress test servers ahead of the full release.
