South Western Railway (SWR) services from London Waterloo will face significant disruption this weekend as engineering works take place around Staines and Teddington. Several services will be affected on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and October 4, with trains terminating early, being diverted, and replacement buses running on affected routes.
Saturday services: Staines area closures
The lines in the Staines area will be closed all weekend due to maintenance work. On Saturday, London Waterloo to Reading services will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Virginia Water, calling additionally at Surbiton, Weybridge, Addlestone, and Chertsey.
London Waterloo to Windsor services will be diverted after Twickenham and terminate at Hounslow. Similarly, London Waterloo to Weybridge via Staines services will terminate at Hounslow. Additional services will run between London Waterloo and Feltham via Twickenham.
Replacement buses and revised routes
Buses will run between Hounslow and Virginia Water via Staines, and between Hounslow and Windsor via Staines. London Waterloo to Basingstoke stopping services and London Waterloo to Alton services will be revised, running combined to Woking where the train will divide, with additional calls at West Byfleet.
Sunday services: Teddington and Shepperton closures
On Sunday, London Waterloo to Reading services will again be diverted between Clapham Junction and Virginia Water, calling additionally at Wimbledon, Surbiton, Weybridge, Addlestone, and Chertsey. London Waterloo to Windsor services will be diverted after Twickenham and terminate at Hounslow, while London Waterloo to Woking via Staines services will also terminate at Hounslow.
Additional services will run between London Waterloo and Hounslow via Twickenham. The afternoon and evening London Waterloo to Kingston via Hounslow services will run all day and terminate at Hounslow. Buses will run between Hounslow and Virginia Water via Staines, between Hounslow and Windsor via Staines, and between Hounslow and Woking via Staines.
The lines between Teddington and Shepperton will also be closed all day due to maintenance work. London Waterloo to Shepperton services will be diverted after Teddington and terminate at Twickenham, calling additionally at Strawberry Hill. Buses will run between Teddington and Shepperton.
Passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling, as the engineering works will cause delays and longer journey times across the affected routes.
