London Tube closures: Five lines shut this weekend for maintenance
London Tube closures: Five lines shut this weekend

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that five London Underground lines will be affected by closures this weekend, impacting the Central, District, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, and Piccadilly lines. The closures are due to essential maintenance work, with the Piccadilly line closure potentially causing significant disruption for travellers heading to Heathrow Airport.

Piccadilly Line Closure

The Piccadilly line will have no service on the entire line during Friday Night Tube (June 12), making journeys to Heathrow Airport more difficult. Passengers can use the Elizabeth line as an alternative until around midnight. The closure is necessary for track work.

Weaver and Windrush Lines

Maintenance work on the Weaver and Windrush lines will also complicate journeys between Poplar and Beckton this weekend.
