After weeks of dry weather and three heatwaves, London may finally see some rain this weekend. The Met Office forecasts a chance of precipitation on Sunday July 26, with the highest likelihood in the early morning hours. The capital has experienced very little rain recently, leading to a hosepipe ban by Thames Water and parched yellow grass in parks. Parts of southern, central, and eastern England are now close to drought conditions.
Weekend Rain Forecast
According to the Met Office, Friday July 24 is expected to be dry with little chance of rain. Saturday July 25 will also be mostly dry, with a less than 5% chance of precipitation during the day, rising to 10% around 11pm at night. The best chance of rain comes on Sunday July 26, with a 30% chance of precipitation between 6am and 8am. This lowers to 20% from 9am to midday, with the afternoon expected to be fresh and dry. Monday July 27 is forecast to be completely dry, with a less than 5% chance of rain throughout the day.

The prolonged dry spell has led to drought-like conditions in London and surrounding areas. Thames Water implemented a hosepipe ban to conserve water, and parks across the city have turned yellow. A little rain would help freshen the city and restore some green to the grass.
