Southern passengers face major changes this weekend as engineering work closes lines in the Streatham and East Croydon areas. The work will affect services between London Victoria and destinations across South London and Surrey on Sunday October 11, with some trains diverted, others suspended and additional services running on alternative routes.
Engineering work diverts and suspends services
From approximately 1am until 7am on Sunday, trains between London Victoria and Three Bridges or Brighton will be diverted between Clapham Junction and East Croydon. These services will run to an amended timetable, with longer journey times expected.
Throughout Sunday, trains which usually run between London Victoria and Sutton or Epsom Downs will instead run between London Victoria and East Croydon. Trains which usually operate between London Victoria and London Bridge will not run.
Additional trains and alternative routes
Additional trains will operate between London Victoria and Epsom Downs via Streatham Hill, Norwood Junction, West Croydon and Sutton, calling at all stations along the route. Services between London Victoria and Reigate will also be affected, with trains running between Reigate and Redhill only.
Passengers travelling between London and Reigate will need to change trains at Redhill. Trains between London Victoria and Dorking will be diverted and will run to an amended timetable, with extended journey times.
Advice for passengers
Passengers can use alternative Southern or Thameslink services between London and Redhill at no extra cost. Passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
