Londoners and visitors planning to explore the capital this weekend should brace for significant travel disruption across the transport network. Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed a series of planned closures and service alterations affecting key Tube and Overground lines from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Major Tube Line Disruptions
Several central London Underground lines will be partially out of service. On the Bakerloo line, there will be no service between Queens Park and Harrow & Wealdstone on both Saturday and Sunday. The Northern line faces a complex series of closures: no service between Hampstead and Edgware from 1.45am until 5.30am on Saturday, followed by no service between Golders Green and Edgware from 5.30am on Saturday and for the entirety of Sunday.
Elizabeth line passengers will encounter problems on Sunday, with no service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7.40am. After this time, a reduced service will operate between Paddington and Maidenhead / Heathrow Terminal 4.
Overground and DLR Service Changes
The Overground network, now operating under its new line names, will see multiple service reductions. The Mildmay line will have a reduced service on Friday evening, with specific train cancellations and route truncations continuing into Sunday. On the Lioness line, the late Friday train from Barking Riverside will not call at Gospel Oak, and there will be no service between Euston and Watford Junction all day Saturday and Sunday. The Windrush line will have no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction / Battersea Park on Sunday.
For those using the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), there will be no service between Bank / Tower Gateway and Canning Town / Lewisham, or between Stratford and Canary Wharf on both Saturday and Sunday. Passengers are advised to use the Jubilee line as an alternative. Additionally, Cutty Sark DLR station will remain closed until next spring.
Planning Your Weekend Travel
With the festive season fast approaching and numerous events happening across the city, these planned engineering works are set to impact a large number of journeys. Commuters and leisure travellers are strongly urged to check their routes before setting out and to allow extra time for their travels. The Waterloo & City line, as always, is closed on weekends.
Staying informed is crucial for navigating London's transport network this weekend. For the latest real-time updates and detailed travel advice, passengers should consult the official TfL website and journey planner.
