New 'Banksy Reindeer' Mural Appears in East London Park Days Before Christmas
New 'Banksy Reindeer' Mural Appears in London

A mysterious new piece of street art, widely speculated to be the work of the elusive artist Banksy, has appeared in an east London park just in time for the festive season.

The artwork, discovered in London Fields, Hackney, depicts a majestic reindeer gazing skyward. The striking image is adorned with multicoloured fairy lights, which hang from a metal bar attached to the wall on which the animal is painted.

Festive Find Sparks Public Speculation

The mural was first reported to have appeared on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. It quickly captured the attention of locals and social media users, many of whom were quick to suggest the anonymous artist Banksy was behind it.

One TikTok user expressed their curiosity, writing: ‘So intrigued to know if it is a Banksy!! Saw today too.’ Another observer playfully noted the reindeer’s antlers were ‘made for pimping up with a few Christmas lights,’ while a third simply called it an ‘impeccable find.’

While the artist has not yet officially claimed the work, its style—particularly the multi-textural, three-dimensional use of physical objects integrated into the painting—is strongly reminiscent of Banksy's known techniques.

A Potential Second Christmas Strike

If confirmed, this would be the second suspected Banksy piece to emerge in London this Christmas week. The artist has already taken to Instagram to claim responsibility for one other new work.

That piece, first spotted on Monday, December 22, features a sketch of two children in winter clothing lying on the ground and pointing upwards. It appeared on the side of an abandoned building in Queen’s Mews, Bayswater, west London. Intriguingly, the mural was boarded up by workmen just hours after Banksy appeared to confirm his involvement online.

An identical version of this artwork also popped up near the Centre Point building at the busy intersection of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, believed to have been placed to catch the eye of Christmas shoppers. The Tottenham Court Road version is thought to have appeared first.

Part of a Wider 'Concrete Jungle'?

This festive activity follows Banksy's earlier major project this year: a series of nine animal-themed murals scattered across the capital, which was collectively dubbed a ‘Concrete Jungle Safari’.

The appearance of the reindeer in Hackney continues this animal theme, adding a seasonal twist. As is customary, the artist's official Instagram account has not yet claimed the London Fields reindeer as an authentic Banksy, leaving the art world and public in a now-familiar state of anticipatory speculation.
