Two of London's most acclaimed Sunday roasts are making a comeback on the same day later this month. LD's Kitchen and Ling Ling's will both relaunch on Sunday, September 27, 2026, marking what Time Out has dubbed the first official day of 'Roastmas 2026'.
LD's Kitchen Moves to Chalk Farm
LD's Kitchen, previously served at The Black Heart in Camden, will now operate from the Imperial Palace of Big Red on Chalk Farm Road. The venue's 'new improved roast menu that's gonna blow your mind' is fully plant-based, according to Time Out.
The previous menu featured 'pork' tofu belly, beef-style steak, and a chicken-ish main served either classic or Southern corn fried. These were accompanied by roasted sweet potato, swede and basil puree, creamy mustard leeks, spinach, maple and fennel glazed carrots, collard greens with garlic, a crispy Yorkshire pudding, and garlic and rosemary roasties.
Ling Ling's Returns to Islington
Ling Ling's, which Time Out previously ranked as London's number one roast, has been based at the 'wine pub' Godet in Islington since last October. The restaurant has only just announced the return of its roast, following residencies at The Gun in Hackney and the Bluecoats in Tottenham.
Chef duo Jenny Phung and James Shepherd's Chinese-inspired Sunday lunch includes beef short rib, five spiced pork belly, five spiced seabass, glass skin chicken with ginger and spring onions, and miso aubergine for vegetarians. All dishes come with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, a sesame Yorkshire pudding, nori mustard, and miso gravy.

The Imperial Palace of Big Red is located at 40-42 Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8BG, while Godet is at 382 Essex Road, Islington, N1 3PF. Both roasts are scheduled to be served from September 27, giving London diners two celebrated options returning on the same day.
