Hunt for 'Ranksy' Graffiti Artist Who Sprayed 'I Farted in Yoga' on London Wall
Hunt for 'Ranksy' Graffiti Artist Over Yoga Fart Message

A council in west London is hunting for a graffiti artist caught on camera writing 'I farted in yoga' on a building site. The mystery individual, dressed in shorts and a white t-shirt, was filmed quickly spraying the message with a backwards 'E' on hoardings in Shepherds Bush. The CCTV footage, released by Hammersmith and Fulham council, shows the man checking for local enforcement before starting his work.

Schoolchildren can be seen stopping and laughing as they observe the artist spraying the grey panels. He completes the piece with an impressive one-line cartoon figure and a copyright symbol. After finishing, the man takes a quick cigarette break, also captured on camera.

The council published an appeal urging anyone who recognizes the tagger to come forward. A statement read: 'Do you recognise this man? He vandalised hoardings in Uxbridge Road – Shepherds Bush – on Saturday 2 May 2026. Council officers have removed the graffiti.'

Commenters on the post were less than helpful, debating whether the act was vandalism or worthy of being displayed in the Louvre. One wrote: 'Omg. The man, the myth, the legend. I've seen that tag absolutely everywhere in London.' Another opined: 'Maybe check all the yoga classes in the area and check who farted?' A third added: 'This graffiti is all over East London. Nice to see he's spread his wings.'

Banksy's London Works

While awaiting official confirmation of the artist's identity, here is a look at some of Banksy's famous London works.

Centre Point at Tottenham Court Road

In late December 2025, two identical Banksy artworks appeared in London, featuring two children lying down in winter clothing and pointing at the sky. The murals were found on an abandoned building in Queen's Mews, Bayswater, and beside the Centre Point building on Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street. The Centre Point mural remains, but the Bayswater graffiti was boarded up within hours.

Royal Courts of Justice

In September 2025, a new Banksy artwork appeared outside the High Court in London, depicting a judge wielding a gavel and attacking an unarmed person on the floor holding a blood-covered sign. Banksy confirmed the artwork on Instagram with the caption 'Royal Courts of Justice, London'. The mural was quickly boarded up and later scrubbed off, with police launching an investigation into criminal damage.

Animal Art Trail

Between August 5 and 13, 2024, nine animal-themed Banksy artworks appeared across London. Some were removed, including a howling wolf on a satellite dish that was stolen. Remaining pieces include two pelicans eating fish on the side of Bonner's Fish Bar in Walthamstow, covered with clear Perspex for protection. Two elephant silhouettes with trunks stretched toward each other in Edith Grove, Chelsea, were also part of the series. One elephant was defaced with white stripes, but the council removed the stripes and applied protective paint.

Other animal-themed pieces from the same period include three swinging monkeys below a London Overground line in Brick Lane, removed in February 2025, a goat on a pillar in Kew Green, a tiger on a billboard in Cricklewood, a police box with piranha decorations at Ludgate Hill, and a gorilla pulling up a shutter at London Zoo, removed for 'safekeeping'.
