UK's Second-Best Fine Dining Restaurant Is a London Bus

Bustronome, a travelling restaurant aboard a double-decker bus, has been named the second-best fine dining venue in the UK and the best in London by TripAdvisor's 2026 Travellers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants. The bus offers four to six courses while driving past 17 of London's most famous landmarks, including Tower Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, and the Natural History Museum.

TripAdvisor's Top One Percent Recognition

The 2026 Travellers' Choice Awards highlight restaurants and dining experiences worldwide that have the highest proportion of exceptional reviews, placing them among the top one percent of TripAdvisor listings. Bustronome won silver on the list of the best fine dining venues in the UK, with an overall rating of 4.9 out of five based on more than 900 reviews. It ranks 42nd out of 23,000 London restaurants.

TripAdvisor calls the moving restaurant an 'unrivalled combination of aesthetics and leisure'. The menu changes every season, so returning diners may experience an entirely different meal. Recent dishes have included sea bass tartare, rolled cod, roasted chicken supreme, and a tiramisu sphere.

Diners Praise the Experience

One recent diner said that Bustronome's food was 'exceptional'. Another wrote enthusiastically: 'Food is amazing. Service amazing. Driver amazing. Ambience amazing'. Someone who tried it earlier this month reported: 'It sounds a little gimmicky at first, but once you're actually on the bus, it's such a nice way to see the city while having a meal. You're eating, chatting, and then suddenly you're passing some of London's famous spots.'

Other London Restaurants in the Rankings

The only other London restaurant in the top 10 was Baluchi at Lalit London Hotel. TripAdvisor called it 'a perfect amalgamation of two great cultures. While the food takes you on a culinary journey of authentic flavours from the Indian subcontinent, the lavish interiors including vaulted ceiling, rich blues and dark wood highlight the British element.' Los Mochis London City came 16th, and Sparrow Italia Mayfair came 18th.

Bustronome's recognition highlights a growing trend of experiential dining in London, where the journey is as important as the meal itself. The restaurant's high rating and rank among thousands of London venues suggest it has found a niche that appeals to both tourists and locals seeking a unique way to see the city.
