Believe Me (Sunday, 9pm, ITV1) is a grim but sensitive true crime drama from writer Jeff Pope. When Sarah Adams (Aimee-Ffion Edwards, bringing heart to a bleak story) takes a taxi after a mildly drunken night out, her driver seems pleasant. However, John Worboys (Daniel Mays) had a regular modus operandi: a compliment, a few slightly intrusive questions, an offer of a spiked drink, and finally rape. The drama mercifully blurs the assault, but the aftermath is barely less grim. It is a sensitively dramatised, step-by-step illustration of why only three out of every 100 rape and sexual assault reports proceed to charges. The story involves suspicious male cops, undermining partners, and an unwieldy legal system that enabled more attacks by Worboys.

Film Choice
The Iron Claw, 10pm, BBC Two. If this were not a true story, you would be forgiven for scoffing at the implausibilities in Sean Durkin's poignant biopic. Telling the tale of the Von Erich family of wrestlers in Texas, it is a parade of triumph and tragedy in a sometimes pitiless sport. The focus is on eldest son Kevin (a stunningly muscle-bound Zac Efron), who strives for success but finds his dad Fritz (Holt McCallany) grooming his brothers David (Harris Dickinson) and Kerry (Jeremy Allen White) for world title shots instead.
