Pussycat Dolls Reunite Talks: Tour Planned 15 Years After Split
Pussycat Dolls in reunion talks after 15 years

Fifteen years after their dramatic split, legendary girl group The Pussycat Dolls are officially in talks to reunite for what could be their biggest tour yet.

From Burlesque to Chart-Topping Success

The Pussycat Dolls first emerged in 2003, evolving from a burlesque troupe into one of the most recognisable girl groups of the 2000s. The original lineup featured Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Carmit Bachar, Melody Thornton, and Kimberly Wyatt, though the group saw several changes over the years.

Kaya Jones departed in 2004, followed by Carmit Bachar in 2008, before the group eventually disbanded in 2010. During their peak years, they delivered massive hits including Don't Cha and Buttons, known for their high-energy performances and iconic choreography.

Overcoming Past Differences

According to sources close to the group, Kimberly Wyatt has told friends that the former bandmates have 'ironed out their issues', suggesting that longstanding disagreements that contributed to their split may finally be resolved.

A source revealed to The Sun: 'Kimberly has been open about the fact the girls have sorted out their issues. She also told pals they've been discussing a tour. The Pussycat Dolls certainly had their differences over the years, but a comeback would send fans wild.'

This represents a significant breakthrough given the tensions that plagued the group during their original run. In a 2019 interview with Lorraine, Melody Thornton revealed the challenges she faced within the group structure: 'They said we're going to have Nicole do all of the recording, you're going to have to learn and dance with the rest of these girls.'

Thornton added: 'For me, it really affected my confidence because I wasn't using my best asset, and people were getting to know me for something that I didn't do. And I was the weakest dancer, so it was challenging.'

Tour Plans and Member Participation

The current discussions reportedly include plans for a potential tour, moving beyond the one-off performances that have characterised previous reunion attempts. Fans were previously disappointed when a 2020 reunion tour was cancelled due to the pandemic, leaving hopes for a comeback on hold.

Nicole Scherzinger's involvement remains crucial to any reunion, as she was widely regarded as the face and lead voice of the group during their commercial peak. Since the split, Scherzinger has continued to focus on solo projects and television appearances.

However, questions remain about Melody Thornton's participation, as she previously opted out of past reunion attempts and may choose to step away again. The involvement of other original members, including Ashley Roberts and Jessica Sutta, is also part of ongoing discussions.

The potential reunion gained momentum back in 2019 when Nicole Scherzinger performed with The Pussycat Dolls on The X Factor: Celebrity, reigniting speculation that new music or a tour could be possible.

When the group originally split in 2010, Scherzinger told Ryan Seacrest: 'A couple of the girls have left the group, because they want to do their own projects and stuff. It's up to them what they want to do, and I just think, whatever makes them happy, we've been at it for a strong six years.'

Now, with Kimberly Wyatt's confirmation that past disputes are 'water under the bridge', fans of The Pussycat Dolls have genuine reason to hope that the iconic group might soon return to stages across the UK and beyond.
