Berlin techno icon Paul Kalkbrenner has confirmed his only UK performance for 2025 will take place at London's colossal Drumsheds venue this December. The highly anticipated event follows the release of his first studio album in seven years, The Essence, marking a significant return for the electronic music pioneer.
Venue Details and Major Upgrades
The spectacular will unfold at Drumsheds in Tottenham, North London, Europe's largest nightclub occupying a converted IKEA building with an impressive 15,000 person capacity. The main performance space, Room X, utilises the Swedish store's former warehouse and features breathtaking visual productions behind performing artists.
Recently implemented enhancements at the Broadwick Live-operated venue include upgraded sound systems, a new backstage bar, and complimentary WiFi for all attendees. The December 13th event operates as a daytime affair with doors opening at 1pm and concluding at 10:30pm.
Kalkbrenner's Musical Legacy
Paul Kalkbrenner represents a cornerstone of the Berlin techno scene, renowned for his electrifying live performances rather than traditional DJ sets. The artist achieved global recognition through his starring role and soundtrack composition for the influential film Berlin Calling.
His breakthrough track Sky and Sand, created with brother Fritz Kalkbrenner, achieved platinum status across multiple countries. The 2015 album 7 topped European charts, preceding his landmark headline performance at London's Printworks venue.
