Jessie J Eyes Stand-Up Comedy and Film in 2026 Career Pivot
Jessie J plans stand-up comedy career change for 2026

Chart-topping singer Jessie J has revealed she is considering a significant and unexpected career change for the coming year, with ambitions to branch into stand-up comedy and film.

A New Direction After a Challenging Year

The 37-year-old artist, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, made the announcement during an appearance on the Women's Health podcast, Just As Well. This revelation comes despite 2025 being an intensely difficult period for the star, following her diagnosis with early-stage breast cancer in June and subsequent surgeries.

Throughout her health battle, Jessie has been notably open with her fans, sharing her experiences with her characteristic humour. It is this same sense of wit that now fuels her desire to step onto the comedy stage. She teased that she would 'love to go into stand up' alongside her ongoing musical endeavours.

Balancing Motherhood, Music, and New Dreams

Fans of The Price Tag singer need not worry about her abandoning music. Jessie J confirmed she 'definitely' wants to create more songs, admitting she hasn't written one in three years. Her latest album, Don't Tease Me With A Good Time, was recorded over five years in Los Angeles and is her first self-released work after parting ways with Republic Records.

The performer is also focused on her family life. She and partner Chanan Safir Colman welcomed their son, Sky, in May 2023. Jessie stated her current priorities are being 'happy, sane, enjoying what I do... and being as present as a mum as I am at work'.

Looking Ahead to Tours and Treatments

Jessie J's immediate future involves a busy schedule. She has confirmed she is 'obviously touring a lot next year', with shows planned in China, Canada, and the United States. This follows the postponement and cancellation of some tour dates due to her cancer treatment.

Earlier this year, at the Capital Summertime Ball, she announced it would be her final performance before undergoing a mastectomy. With her trademark frankness, she later joked the procedure left her with 'wonky boobs', creating some temporary challenges with her stage outfits.

Looking beyond 2026, the multi-talented artist remains open to various creative paths. 'Maybe doing something that challenges me, whether it’s a book or a children’s album or comedy or Broadway or film, whatever’s going to come will come,' she concluded on the podcast.
