Jess Glynne Reveals Family Emergency Behind Missing Alex Scott's Jungle Exit
Jess Glynne on missing Alex Scott's I'm A Celeb exit

Singer Jess Glynne has shared the heartfelt reason she was unable to greet her girlfriend, former footballer Alex Scott, following her elimination from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! The 41-year-old former England star left the jungle on Friday's episode after receiving the fewest public votes.

Family Crisis Takes Priority

Glynne disclosed that a serious family health emergency prevented her from being at the iconic bridge to meet Scott. Her mother suffered a major stroke and required urgent brain surgery in recent weeks. This life-altering situation meant the singer needed to remain close to home to support her family during this critical time.

In a touching statement, Glynne expressed: "Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery. It's been a really life-altering time for my family, and I've had to stay close to home." She added that Scott would always want her to be where she's needed most, saying "I can't wait to have her back by my side."

Proud Partner's Instagram Tribute

Despite her physical absence, Glynne publicly celebrated her partner's jungle journey with a supportive Instagram post. She wrote that she was "unbelievably proud" of Scott, acknowledging that her early departure didn't reflect her true capabilities.

"My woman might be out far earlier than she deserved, but I'm so unbelievably proud of her," Glynne shared with her followers. "She didn't get the airtime to show how incredible she really is and trust me, this is only the beginning."

Scott's Jungle Experience and Bonding

During her two weeks in the Australian jungle, Alex Scott faced numerous challenges including a 12,000-foot skydive and gruelling trials involving animal innards. She formed particularly strong connections with her campmates, especially model Kelly Brook, with whom she was in the final two facing elimination.

Reflecting on her experience, Scott told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly: "My jungle experience has been a whole lot more than what I expected it to be. It's been really special to connect with a group of people that have allowed me to just be me."

Fellow camper Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet echoed these sentiments, describing the experience as "the most rewarding thing he'd experienced in years" and praising the special bond formed among the contestants.

The elimination also included TV personality Jack Osbourne, social media star Angryginge, rapper Aitch, model Kelly Brook, and comedian Ruby Wax. Scott revealed she would like to see EastEnders star Shona McGarty crowned as Queen of the Jungle, believing it would give her the confidence to take on life.

The jungle drama continues on ITV1, STV, ITVX, and STV Player with the main show airing at 9pm, followed by I'm A Celebrity... Unpacked on ITV2.
