Around 40,000 people attended All Points East Festival in London's Victoria Park on Saturday, August 22, to see performers including Lorde, Pinkpantheress, and Zara Larsson. However, it was two unexpected celebrities in the crowd that captured attention on social media.
A festival-goer named Millie, who was filming part of Zara Larsson's set, later realized she had missed Jedward, the Irish duo of twins John and Edward Grimes, walking directly past her. She shared the video on TikTok, expressing frustration at not noticing them, as she would have liked to meet the stars.
Video reveals Jedward walking past oblivious fan
In the TikTok clip, Millie films the large crowd gathered for Zara Larsson's performance of her hit song "Symphony." Just before the camera turns to Millie and her friend singing along, Jedward's distinctive blonde hair is visible as they walk past the unsuspecting fan.
Millie wrote on the video: "POV: Jedward literally walk past you, but you're so oblivious, you don't even notice." In the caption, she added, "Not very jepic of us."
Jedward respond and fans share encounters
The video quickly drew a response from Jedward themselves, who commented with a picture of the pair. Other festival attendees who had met the singers also shared their own photos in the comments.
One girl posted a picture with Jedward and wrote, "They were jepic, I fear." Another commented, "I don't know what I'd do if Jedward didn't exist." A third wrote, "I can't imagine how funny it must've been to watch the vid back and see Jedward."
Jedward's summer of London music events
All Points East is not the only London event where Jedward have been spotted this summer. In July, they appeared in the crowd at a My Chemical Romance show at Wembley Stadium, and weeks earlier, they attended a Harry Styles concert at the same venue.
One person commented on a video of the twins at My Chemical Romance: "Jedward popped up randomly at a Harry Styles concert last week as well. I think they're just on their side quests."
