A Shock Loss

Speaking to fellow campmate Lisa Riley around the campfire, Jack opened up about the sudden nature of his father's passing. Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76, just 17 days after his final live performance with Black Sabbath at Villa Park in Birmingham.

"It was definitely a shock," Jack admitted. "We knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock. We didn't know it would be that quick."

The rock icon's health struggles, including Parkinson's disease which had limited his mobility, were well known. He performed his last concert while seated on a throne. Ultimately, the cause of death was a heart attack, with coronary artery disease listed as a contributing factor.

Ozzy's Final Curtain Call

Reflecting on his father's final gig, Jack found a poignant silver lining. "It was the ultimate mic drop," he said. "He did a massive big gig and was like, alright, I'm done."

Jack became tearful during the conversation, with Lisa offering comfort as she related to his loss. He also confirmed that his decision to join the jungle had the full support of his family, including his late father. "He'd be so supportive of this," Jack stated.

Later, in the Bush Telegraph, Jack confessed that while he valued the connection with Lisa, it brought a flood of emotions to the surface. His grief is still very fresh, nearly four months on.
