FrightFest, the UK's largest horror film festival, has unveiled its biggest ever programme for its 26th edition, featuring a record-breaking 82 films across five days. The festival runs from August 27 to 31 at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square and Odeon Luxe West End, with 24 world premieres from 16 countries.
Opening and closing films
The festival opens with Abner Pastoll's South Korean-set psychological thriller 'Nervous', described as a descent-into-madness chiller. It closes with 'Species', a body horror film from French writer-director Marion Le Corroller.
Key highlights
Other highlights include 'Colony', the latest from 'Train to Busan' director Yeon Sang-ho, and the Indonesian horror-comedy 'Ghosts in the Cell'. The full programme offers a chance to discover emerging talents in the genre, which has seen recent successes with films like 'Backrooms' and 'Obsession'.
According to the festival organisers, the line-up reflects the continued strength and diversity of horror cinema worldwide. FrightFest 2026 is presented by Tubi and promises a mix of gory, unsettling, and deranged films for genre fans.
