Ed Sheeran Reveals 'One More Big Tour' Plan Amid Family Focus
Ed Sheeran hints at final major tour in candid interview

Global superstar Ed Sheeran has delivered bittersweet news for his legions of fans, indicating he plans to embark on just one more large-scale world tour before dramatically scaling back his commitments. The singer's revelation comes alongside lyrical hints in his recent work suggesting his marriage to childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn has faced challenges.

Lyrical Hints and Family First

On the deluxe version of his latest album, Play, the 34-year-old artist sings candidly about 'problems' the couple 'don’t know how to solve' and feeling 'deflated'. The emotionally charged tracks also reflect his deep commitment to his two young daughters, Lyra Antarctica, five, and Jupiter, three. Sheeran ruminates on the balance between being a present father and maintaining his status as an international music icon.

Speaking on the Awards Chatter podcast, the dedicated dad laid out his future vision clearly. 'I’ve got one more big tour in me before settling down for the school years,' he stated. He has previously credited parenthood with helping him leave behind less healthy habits, focusing now on a simplified list of priorities: family, songwriting, and performing.

A Suffolk Solution: The Hometown Residency Plan

While Sheeran's current world tour stretches into the new year, including intimate gigs like his recent Billions Club show in Dublin, he is already planning a sustainable future. His solution to staying on stage without lengthy absences from his family is a potential residency in his hometown in Suffolk.

'I looked into the idea of building a venue in my hometown and doing a residency there,' Sheeran explained. 'That then cuts out the travel and being away from my family. I’ve built a studio nearby that I can use. I feel that’s the model you can adopt.'

Life at 'Sheeranville' and Temporary US Moves

The singer lives with his family on a sprawling £3.7 million estate on the Suffolk coast, affectionately dubbed 'Sheeranville'. The property, created by merging two houses, includes a barn converted into a private recording studio for Sheeran and his famous collaborators.

In a bid to spend more time with his wife and children during overseas work, Sheeran also discussed the possibility of temporarily relocating his family to the United States. While he owns an apartment in New York, any move would see Cherry and their daughters 'settle' in an unnamed state for a period. Ultimately, the singer laments how life gets 'quite cluttered' and sees a local-focused career as a way to support the regional music scene while reclaiming family time.

Ed Sheeran's plan marks a significant shift for one of the world's most prolific touring artists, placing fatherhood and home life at the centre of his next chapter.
