The hunt for a violent culprit, the culmination of an insidious scheme and the formation of an unlikely friendship are all on the menu for next week's EastEnders. With Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) exactly where he wants him, Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) is ready to strike, and with his grandmother Sheila (Sheila Ruskin) lying in wait, it looks as though Chelsea Fox's (Zaraah Abrahams) worst nightmares are about to become a reality – how much danger are they both in?
Ian's dangerous alliance with Gray
On Monday, August 10, Gray offers Ian protection in prison in return for luring Chelsea into a visit. Ian initially turns him down, but a rapidly escalating violent incident behind bars sees him change his mind. By Tuesday, August 11, Chelsea commits to visiting Ian despite Kim and Jack's concerns. However, Ian is sickened to learn the full extent of Gray's plan and tries to force Chelsea to leave, but it's far too late.
Meanwhile, Sheila stalks Kim and Pearl from the shadows before striking and snatching Jordan away. The Fox-Trueman family is stricken with panic when they realize Sheila has Jordan. Before Jack can tell Denise, Kim arrives to tell her. When Jack receives a lead, Kim and Denise sneak out of the hospital, all while Chelsea remains stuck within the prison, where Gray heads to see Ian, having not received a phone call from Sheila.
