Denise Welch has given fans a glimpse inside her son Matty Healy's wedding to Gabbriette Bechtel, but many were distracted by her youthful appearance. The Loose Women star, 68, looked stunning in a blush satin gown by Solace London at the Castillo del Lago ceremony in Los Angeles on July 20, 2026.
Wedding details and celebrity guests
The 1975 frontman, 37, married model Gabbriette, 28, under the Hollywood sign at sunset. The venue, previously owned by Madonna, hosted celebrities including Charli XCX, Nick Grimshaw, and Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor. Denise posted multiple Instagram galleries showing the festivities.
In her posts, Denise wrote: 'To see my eldest son marry the most beautiful, funny, crazy girl under the Hollywood sign was a night I’ll never forget. They are made for each other.' She welcomed Gabbriette's parents, Gary and Chayo, into the family, adding: 'We love our daughter-in-law and our new family.'
Denise's glamorous looks
Denise first shared her wedding day dress: a blush satin off-shoulder Solace London gown with oversized sleeves. Her silvery platinum hair was coiffed to perfection. Kelly Brook commented she was 'absolutely stunning', while Loose Women co-star Frankie Bridge was 'obsessed'. Ruth Langsford wrote 'Absolutely STUNNING!'
A second post showed her 'night one' look: a dramatic one-shoulder black dress. Christine Lampard commented 'WOW' and Adam Thomas wrote 'Beautiful'. Denise's third post included a rolling gallery of images and clips from the weekend.
Relationship timeline
Matty and Gabbriette were first linked in September 2023, months after his short-lived fling with Taylor Swift. Engagement rumours began in June 2024 when Gabbriette posted a photo of a large black ring on her ring finger. Before the wedding, Matty celebrated with a stag do where he performed with a 1975 tribute band. Gabbriette enjoyed a hen party in Las Vegas, sharing photos of being handcuffed and carried onto a plane by a man dressed as a police officer.
Gabbriette is lead vocalist of punk rock band Nasty Cherry, formed by Charli XCX, whose husband George Daniel is The 1975's drummer.
