The hit reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is gearing up to film its ninth series in Malaysia, and its line-up has been unveiled, raising eyebrows. The Channel 4 programme has enlisted a wide array of competitors, from past controversial Strictly Come Dancing stars to personalities from Love Island and Towie. Among the 14 celebrities are the show's first-ever trans participant and a man who went viral for dancing in Ibiza last summer.
Controversial Signings
Former Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice is making his UK TV comeback after being dropped from the show in 2023 following complaints from his celebrity partner Amanda Abbington. The BBC upheld some complaints but cleared him of the most serious allegations. Another Strictly contestant, Thomas Skinner, who claimed unfair elimination, also joins the cast.
Reality Stars and Influencers
American singer JoJo Siwa, known for her stints on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Bake Off, is participating. She previously took part in the US version of Celebrity SAS in 2023. Towie star Amy Childs, influencer 'Ibiza Final Boss' (Jack Kay), and Love Island star Tyrique Hyde are also on the list.
Historic First
Married at First Sight UK star Ella Morgan, 32, will make history as the show's first trans competitor. She was also the first trans bride on MAFS.
Athletes and Others
Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams and former England rugby player Phil Vickery are among the athletes. Other participants include rapper Konan, farrier Sam Wolfenden, Gogglebox star George Baggs, broadcast journalist Anna Woolhouse, and influencer Adeola Patronne.
