Assassin's Creed Gets Live Stage Adaptation with Parkour and Combat
Assassin's Creed Live Stage Show Announced

Ubisoft is bringing the Assassin's Creed franchise to the theatre with a new live stage show titled Heredis: Echoes Of The Past. The production features 17 performers combining acrobatics, urban parkour, choreographed combat, and physical feats within immersive environments drawn from the video game series.

A New Story with a Fresh Protagonist

The stage adaptation introduces a brand-new character named Naël, who embarks on a journey to find his missing father. While not based on any specific game, the show revisits the modern-day aspects of Assassin's Creed that the games have gradually moved away from. It will involve 'a series of trials across different historical eras,' according to the official website.

World Premiere in Montreal

The show is scheduled to premiere in Montreal, Canada, on December 3, 2026, followed by a European premiere in Paris on January 21, 2027. Montreal is a fitting location as Ubisoft Montreal is the main developer of the Assassin's Creed series. There is no word yet on whether the production will tour globally, but given the franchise's popularity, a world tour is possible if the show is well-received.

Family-Friendly Show

Unlike the video games, which are rated for mature audiences, the stage show is billed as suitable for ages seven and up, suggesting it will be less violent. This ironic twist means children who enjoy the show will not be able to purchase the games.

In other Assassin's Creed news, former Ubisoft director Clint Hocking has announced his own studio, Build Machine Games. Hocking, who was the creative director behind the upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe, left Ubisoft a few months ago. His new studio aims to create 'emotionally resonant, socially relevant games that challenge players' perspectives.'

Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed Hexe has reportedly undergone significant changes after game director Benoit Richer also left Ubisoft, and around 50 developers were moved off the project. Rumors suggest that despite the game's witch trial theme, all magical elements have been removed.
