Comedian Turns Hero During Terrifying Holiday Ordeal

Celebrity Traitors champion Alan Carr demonstrated remarkable bravery when he saved his close friend from a knife attack during what should have been a relaxing holiday in Marrakesh. The incident occurred when Cleo Rocos, 63, was suddenly confronted by an armed assailant while walking with the comedian in the Moroccan city.

The Terrifying Confrontation

According to Rocos' account to The Sun, the frightening episode began when a man leaped from the darkness and grabbed her. When she attempted to push him away, the attacker intensified his grip and produced a knife. Speaking in what she described as "really bad English," the man allegedly told Rocos he wanted to be with her.

"We didn't think he was being serious but then he pulled a knife out," Rocos recalled of the moment the situation escalated from concerning to life-threatening. It was at this critical point that Carr intervened, displaying what his friend described as surprising calmness given the circumstances.

Carr's Quick-Thinking Rescue

The comedian's response was both immediate and effective. Carr positioned himself between his friend and the attacker, pulling Rocos to safety while confronting the armed man. In a remarkably composed manner, he told the assailant, "Don't be so rude" before slapping the knife from his hand before the man could react.

Rocos believes Carr's swift actions literally saved her life, preventing what could have been a tragic outcome from a situation that "could have gone terribly wrong." She praised her friend's unexpected physical presence, noting that "he is much taller than people realise and he is also strong and chivalrous despite his nervous demeanour."

From Game Show Villain to Real-Life Hero

The incident provides a striking contrast to Carr's recent television persona on Celebrity Traitors, where he shocked viewers with his deceptive gameplay. The comedian won £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK after tricking fellow contestants throughout the series, even eliminating his friend Paloma Faith early in the competition.

Rocos, who starred alongside Kenny Everett in the 1980s television show The Kenny Everett Television Show and now runs the AquaRiva tequila company from her home in Brazil, believes Carr's recent success will "fling doors wide open for him" and even suggested he'd make "a great Bond villain."

The harrowing experience in Marrakesh demonstrates that behind the comedian's nervous television persona lies a courageous and quick-thinking individual capable of heroic action when friends are in danger.
