The Traitors' Adam Reveals 'Suited and Booted' Ghost Sighting in Castle
Traitors star Adam details 'suited and booted' castle ghost

A contestant from the hit BBC show The Traitors has sent shivers down viewers' spines by revealing a paranormal encounter he experienced while filming in the Scottish Highlands. Adam, the 35-year-old builder who was the last player to be 'murdered' in the current series, has detailed a ghostly sighting of a figure dressed in contemporary clothing within the historic Ardross Castle.

A Lifelong Ghost Hunter's Castle Encounter

While fellow Faithful contestants were relaxing in their rooms, Adam was indulging in a childhood hobby: ghost hunting. He told Metro that his ability to see spirits dates back to when he was just eight years old. His experience at Ardross was particularly striking. He spotted a figure 'out of the corner of his eye' who was 'suited and booted' – wearing clothes you might see today – and it proceeded to follow him up a staircase.

"Someone left me at the bottom of the stairs, and someone joined me at the bottom of the stairs to walk me up the stairs to go get ready for a mission," Adam explained. Ever polite, he turned to thank his companion, only to find no one there. A conversation with a production member at the top confirmed the eerie truth: no one had followed him. The builder was 'thrown off' by the spirit's modern attire and is now keen to 'book the whole castle out and do a proper investigation.'

Gameplay Reflections and Missed Clues

The ghostly chat wasn't the only topic of discussion. Adam and fellow contestant Sam, 34, who was recently banished, reflected on the intense murder mystery game. Sam joked that the only supernatural presence he felt was 'Adam breathing down my neck every now and again.'

The pair also addressed the elephant in the room for fans: why the remaining Faithfuls haven't sussed out contestant Rachel, despite strong accusations from banished players Fiona and Harriet. Sam admitted Rachel was a master of consistency, making others feel they needed to prove their innocence to her. Adam agreed she was a formidable player, stating, "She battled off Fiona, she battled off Harriet. She does deserve to win."

Both men were 'blindsided' by the secret family links between contestants like Ross and Ellie, with Adam noting they had both denied knowing anyone in the castle. Sam described the mind games, saying the prominent family tree in the entrance hall made him think it was a red herring, so he switched off from looking for connections.

Life After The Traitors

Now back to their normal lives – Sam as an account manager from North Yorkshire and Adam as a builder from Essex – the pair say the experience hasn't radically changed them. Adam declared, "I don't change for no one." However, the show has been good for business; Adam now gets recognised at builders' merchants and receives online queries about his work.

On their gameplay, both had regrets. Sam felt he was too outspoken early on, while Adam believed he 'left it a little bit too late' to become more assertive. If he could go back, Adam's one request would have been to investigate the castle's turret for more spectral activity.

The Traitors continues to air on BBC One, with viewers now watching with an extra layer of intrigue, knowing the castle's drama wasn't confined to the game.
