Following a dramatic banishment on the latest episode of The Traitors, sharp-eyed viewers are convinced they have uncovered evidence of another major twist waiting to be revealed in the hit BBC show.
The Envelope That Started the Frenzy
After crime writer Harriet was banished from the castle on Wednesday's episode, she appeared on the companion show The Traitors: Uncloaked to dissect the events. Hosted by Ed Gamble, she was joined by guests Maddy Smedley from series one and Celebrity Traitors star Clare Balding.
During the segment where Harriet discovered the identities of the remaining Traitors, a viewer named Nicola Austin spotted a crucial detail. On social media platform X, she posted a screenshot with a red circle, asking: ‘What is this second envelope which keeps appearing on #TheTraitors Uncloaked?! Is there ANOTHER secret or twist in the series…?’
The footage showed a second, unopened envelope left on the table after Harriet had picked up the one containing the Traitors' names. The camera briefly lingered on it, suggesting its presence was deliberate and significant.
A Recurring Pattern Points to a Secret
This is not an isolated incident. In the previous episode of Uncloaked, when banished Faithful Reece learned the Traitors' identities with former secret Traitor Fiona, a similar second envelope was also visible on the table.
It is also not the first time that fans have used Uncloaked to predict future twists. Previously, viewers noticed patterns in the show's guest lineup that often aligned with who had been recently eliminated from the main game, sometimes spoiling outcomes ahead of time.
The consistent appearance of this mysterious second document has fuelled widespread speculation online. Fans are theorising it could hint at anything from a secret player, a late-game format shake-up, or a hidden power yet to be activated.
Harriet's Dramatic Kamikaze Exit
The speculation follows a fiery roundtable on January 14th, 2026, which culminated in the banishment of 52-year-old Harriet. After receiving the most votes from contestants who believed she was a Traitor, she revealed she was, in fact, a Faithful.
In her final words, she declared: ‘It’s a kamikaze move, I appreciate that, but I wanted to ensure you all knew who I really was. I’ve given you the names, do not let this sacrifice be in vain. I am and have always been, a faithful.’
Following her exit, the remaining Traitors, Rachel and Stephen, were visited by host Claudia Winkleman in the turret. They were given the option to either murder or seduce another player, setting the stage for the next episode.
The Traitors continues on BBC One. With fans now scrutinising every frame of Uncloaked, the hunt for the truth behind the second envelope is well and truly on.
