Subscribers to Netflix in the United Kingdom are facing a significant content clear-out this weekend, with a host of popular films and television series scheduled to vanish from the platform's library.
What's Leaving Netflix UK This Week?
The streaming giant regularly rotates its catalogue, and January 2026 is proving to be a particularly busy month for departures. Following the earlier exit of heavyweights like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, and the Harry Potter films, an even more substantial batch of titles is now on the chopping block.
The removals began earlier this week. On Monday, January 5, films such as Leligar (2021) and Mars One (2022) were taken down. Tuesday, January 6 saw the removal of Beyoncé Bowl (2024) and Executive Decision (1996). A trio of films left on Wednesday, January 7: 100and Halal (2020), Knight and Day (2010), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).
Key Departures on Friday and Saturday
The exodus continues with pace as the weekend approaches. On Thursday, January 8, viewers said goodbye to the romance The Lucky One (2012) and the family film Paddington in Peru (2024).
Friday, January 9 marks a major purge. A significant blow for sci-fi fans, the entire available Star Trek catalogue is set to beam out, including:
- Star Trek (3 Seasons)
- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (7 Seasons)
- Star Trek: Enterprise (4 Seasons)
- Star Trek: The Next Generation (7 Seasons)
- Star Trek: Voyager (7 Seasons)
Also departing on Friday are the animated series Captain Underpants Mega Blissmas (2020), The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants (3 Seasons), and The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants in Space (1 Season). The action film Skyscraper (2018), starring Dwayne Johnson, will also be removed.
Oscar-Winning Film Among Final Weekend Exits
The content removal schedule extends through Sunday. Saturday, January 10 is the last day to stream My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2023) and Romeo Must Die (2000).
On Sunday, January 11, the family favourite Flushed Away (2006) and the French film Dear Mother (2021) will disappear. Comedy classics The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad (1988) and The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991) are also being taken off.
Perhaps the most notable departure is the critically acclaimed, Oscar-winning blockbuster Oppenheimer (2023), starring Cillian Murphy. It will be withdrawn from the UK service by the end of the weekend, leaving only a narrow window for a final viewing.
This wave of removals underscores the transient nature of digital streaming libraries. Subscribers are advised to check their watchlists and catch these titles before their licenses expire and they vanish from the platform.
