Katie Price's family have reportedly not yet met her new fiancé Lee Andrews and are expressing significant concern about the speed of their relationship. The news comes after the former glamour model's recent ex-boyfriend, JJ Slater, was also said to be blindsided by the engagement announcement, which surfaced just weeks after their separation.

Social Media Revelation Stuns Family

The 47-year-old reality star took to Instagram on Friday night to unveil her massive new diamond ring and share details of a romantic proposal in Dubai. Initially, she left followers guessing about the identity of her new partner, but subsequent posts—including from the man himself—revealed him to be Dubai-based British entrepreneur Lee Andrews.

The proposal appeared to take place in a luxurious hotel room complete with a hot tub and rose petals arranged on the floor to spell out: 'Will you marry me Katie?' In photos shared online, Katie posed alongside a chocolate cake and two glasses of champagne, proudly displaying her new ring. Lee's hand, tattooed with her name and '11.11', was also visible, with later images confirming that Katie has a matching tattoo.

Family Left in the Dark

Despite these very public displays of commitment, Katie's family were apparently unaware of the relationship development until they saw it on social media. A source told The Sun: 'The family found out about the engagement on Instagram – they were stunned. It came as a massive shock to them all.'

The insider added: 'Katie's family are so worried as it's all happening so fast. They were upset when she split with JJ and now they haven't even met this new man and she's engaged.'

Ex-Boyfriend JJ Slater Also Surprised

Reports indicate that Katie's ex, 32-year-old JJ Slater, was equally taken aback by the engagement news. According to The Daily Mail, sources claimed it was a complete shock to the reality star, who is currently in Miami with family and has reportedly been 'healing his broken heart'. He has yet to comment publicly while on holiday.

Katie and JJ's split was revealed earlier this month, after nearly two years together. The pair began dating in 2024 and were frequently seen together at red carpet events, even discussing plans to have children. When their separation came to light, a source suggested Katie had given JJ an ultimatum after 'pushing for marriage and security', while also indicating that JJ had 'checked out' under pressure.

However, Katie denied these claims during an episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, on January 15. She stated: 'I didn't give him an ultimatum at all. To be honest guys, so me and JJ, our relationship for months wasn't right, but he's such a nice guy. I cannot fault him in any way possible. There was no ultimatum.'

She also dismissed suggestions that their split was due to disagreements about marriage and children as 'absolute rubbish', explaining: 'If I'm honest I love the guy, but I'm not in love with him. And what's the point of carrying on a relationship? Yeah the family love him, all the family love him. But I'm the one going out with him.'

Katie insisted there were no hard feelings and confirmed that they had 'actually split up a few months ago', which allowed time for her new relationship with Lee to develop.
