Katie Price has publicly addressed the end of her relationship with boyfriend JJ Slater, directly refuting claims that she issued him an 'ultimatum' over marriage and children.
The end of a nearly two-year romance
The former glamour model, 47, and the Married at First Sight UK star, 32, began their relationship in 2024. Their high-profile romance saw them become regulars on the red carpet and even discuss expanding their family, which would have added to the five children Price already has.
Reports emerged last week suggesting the couple had parted ways after almost two years together. An unnamed source claimed the split followed an ultimatum from Price, who was allegedly 'pushing for marriage and security', leaving Slater feeling under significant pressure.
Price sets the record straight on her podcast
Now, Katie Price has hit back, using her podcast, The Katie Price Show, to explain the genuine reasons behind the breakup. 'I didn't give him an ultimatum at all,' she stated firmly.
'To be honest guys, so me and JJ, our relationship for months wasn't right, but he's such a nice guy. I cannot fault him in any way possible. There was no ultimatum,' Price continued. She dismissed the specific claim that she wanted marriage or a baby as 'a load of rubbish, absolute rubbish'.
The core issue, she revealed, was a simple loss of romantic connection. 'I love the guy, but I'm not in love with him,' Price confessed. 'And what's the point of carrying on a relationship?... It became like a best friend basically. In a relationship you want to have everything, and it just just wasn't there for me.'
A conscious uncoupling to avoid future hurt
Price disclosed that the couple had actually separated 'a few months ago' but spent Christmas together as plans were already in place. She explained she waited to see if feelings would rekindle, but they did not.
Emphasising there is 'no hard feelings' or 'animosity', Price said her decision was motivated by maturity and a desire not to waste either of their time. 'These are mistakes I've made in the past. You stay just go along and then it ends up getting nasty and I don't want that. So, I'd rather have nipped it in the bud sooner rather than later,' she reflected.
She concluded her thoughts on the split by wishing Slater well: 'So good luck to him for the future.' Price added that she feels happier and stronger for making the difficult decision, stating, 'There's nothing worse than having been with someone you don't want to be with.'
The couple's relationship had been subject to speculation in recent months due to their absence from each other's social media, though Slater did feature in Price's Christmas vlog. Price began dating JJ Slater after her split from former fiancé Carl Woods.
