Katie Price and Lee Andrews Officially Register Marriage in Abu Dhabi
Former glamour model Katie Price, 47, and businessman Lee Andrews, 41, have legally solidified their union by registering their marriage in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on February 17. This development follows widespread speculation about the validity of their initial wedding ceremony in Dubai last month.
From Symbolic Ceremony to Legal Documentation
In late January, Price surprised fans and family members by announcing her whirlwind engagement and subsequent marriage to Andrews during a trip to Dubai. However, questions quickly emerged regarding the legal standing of their ceremony. Celebrant Darryl Rees, a Swansea-born part-time DJ who has officiated weddings in Dubai for five years, clarified that the event was purely symbolic.
"I'm a showman, you have to go to court to have it legalized," Rees explained to the Daily Mail, noting that many British couples opt for picturesque ceremonies in exotic locations while handling legal formalities separately through Dubai courts or UK register offices.
Legal Marriage Certificate Details
Newly released documents confirm the couple's legal marriage registration on February 17 in Abu Dhabi. The certificate includes their full names, birth dates, places of birth, nationalities, and the marriage location. Supporting documents dated February 16 show signatures from both Price and Andrews.
Photographs from the legal proceedings depict the couple holding hands while a representative from the Judicial Department completes paperwork. Price wore an oversized yellow sweater with light blue jeans and trainers for the occasion, while Andrews sported a similar casual outfit paired with a baseball cap.
Family Reactions and Social Media Activity
Price's children Princess and Junior, whom she co-parents with ex-husband Peter Andre, recently appeared on This Morning where they addressed their mother's latest relationship. When asked if they had met Andrews, Princess responded simply, "No, I've not met him."
Junior added supportively, "To be fair, our mum is her own person, her own woman. We are supportive of her and as long as she's happy, that's all we care about." Host Ben Shephard concluded, "It seems like she's happy and enjoying it."
On social media, Andrews recently shared a video showing Price punching a boxing bag with the caption: "Beating the odds to all those that didn't believe we are legally married and it's true love at first sight." Price also posted an AI-generated image of herself in a wedding dress, asking followers for their opinion on the potential attire.
Relationship Timeline and Previous Marriages
Price and Andrews' relationship developed rapidly through social media connections before they met in person. In a statement following their wedding, Price described their meeting as "esoteric" and explained they connected through checking each other's social media profiles.
"We quickly realized, 'Wow, this is for me,'" she said. "That evolved deeper as we connected further within days, getting matching tattoos, and then both deciding to buy rings for the other. All this without even meeting, we let fate, but you could say destiny, decide."
This marks Price's fourth marriage following previous unions with Peter Andre, Alex Reid, and Kieran Hayler. She has been engaged nine times total and is mother to five children, including Harvey who lives in supported care, and Princess and Junior whom she co-parents with Andre.
Despite the couple's apparent happiness, reports indicate some family members were "blindsided" by the rapid developments. The legal registration in Abu Dhabi now provides official documentation of their marital status after the initial ceremonial celebration in Dubai.
