Epstein's Fixation on TV Star Donna Air Revealed

Epstein's Intense Focus on Donna Air Uncovered in Justice Department Files

Jeffrey Epstein developed a significant fixation on British television actress Donna Air following his release from prison in 2008, as detailed in newly disclosed documents from the US Department of Justice. The convicted sex offender mentioned the Byker Grove star a staggering 224 times in email communications spanning from 2011 to 2012, highlighting an obsessive pattern of contact.

Initial Connection Through a Mutual Friend

The relationship between Epstein and Air was initiated by a mutual acquaintance, Italian hedge-fund manager Tancredi Marchiolo. In correspondence, Marchiolo informed Epstein that he and his "good friend" Air would be visiting New York, extending an invitation for a meeting. He described Air as "more institutional" compared to three other women whose names were redacted in the documents, prompting Epstein to respond affirmatively with "Yes to Donna."

Air was subsequently provided with Epstein's contact information, and evidence suggests they arranged multiple encounters. Marchiolo indicated that Air anticipated Epstein's call and encouraged him to reach out proactively. Epstein's assistant documented a reminder on July 21, 2011, to contact Air, who had recently ended her relationship with businessman Damian Aspinall.

Organized Meet-Ups and Brief Encounters

Prior to her relationship with James Middleton, the brother of Princess Catherine, Air and Epstein exchanged numerous emails to coordinate meetings in New York and Paris. Their first confirmed in-person interaction occurred on April 18, 2012, after Epstein had completed a 13-month prison sentence and a year of house arrest for child sex offenses in Florida.

Epstein expressed dissatisfaction with the brevity of their meeting, remarking it was "too short," while Air responded cordially. Later that same day, he unexpectedly invited her for "a cuppa" before a dinner event, again lamenting the encounter as "much, much too short." Air acknowledged it was "Short but sweet" and wished him well.

Further invitations included a party at the US ambassador's residence in Paris, though Air's attendance remains unconfirmed. Their communication extended to Skype, with Air sending a message on June 30 stating, "Thought of u Just this morning!" Their final recorded exchange on August 18, 2012, involved Air informing Epstein of her travel plans to Ibiza.

Air's Stance and Subsequent Relationships

Sources close to Air have asserted that she never consented to meet Epstein and that he would appear at events she attended, contacting her afterward. She reportedly severed ties with him before being introduced to James Middleton by Princess Eugenie in 2013. Their relationship lasted until 2018, during which Air attended the wedding of Middleton's sister, Pippa.

Air has publicly stated there is no animosity between them, describing Middleton as "a great guy" and wishing him happiness. Middleton is now married to financial analyst Alizee Thevenet, while Air was later linked to property developer Ben Carrington.

Donna Air's Career Trajectory

Donna Air, now 46, began her career as an extra on CBBC's Byker Grove at age 10, eventually landing the role of Charlie. In the mid-1990s, she pursued music with co-stars Jayni Hoy and Vicky Taylor as Byker Groove!, releasing the single Love Your Sexy. Relocating to London at 15, she continued with Hoy under the name Crush, touring internationally after completing her GCSEs.

Upon returning to the UK, Air secured presenting roles on MTV UK and Channel 4's The Big Breakfast. Her acting credits include films like The Mummy Returns and TV series such as Hollyoaks, Hotel Babylon, and most recently, BBC One's The Split. She has also participated in reality shows like Splash! and Dancing On Ice.

Representatives for Donna Air have been approached for comment regarding these revelations. The documents underscore Epstein's persistent efforts to engage with high-profile individuals, adding another layer to the ongoing scrutiny of his network and activities.
