Emmerdale Actress Isabel Hodgins Celebrates Birth of First Child

Isabel Hodgins, the beloved actress who portrays Victoria Sugden on the long-running ITV soap opera Emmerdale, has joyfully announced the arrival of her first baby. The star took to Instagram last week to share the wonderful news with her fans and followers, posting an absolutely adorable reel that documented moments from the hospital.

Adorable Announcement and Heartwarming Details

The Instagram video begins with Isabel in a hospital room, utilizing a birthing ball as she prepares for delivery. The clip then confirms the exciting details: her little daughter, named Georgie Grace, was born precisely on February 11 at 1:02 AM. Alongside the reel, Isabel also shared a super cute black and white polaroid photograph, capturing a tender moment as she cradles her newborn baby girl.

Immediate congratulations poured in from her Emmerdale colleagues and friends. Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle on the show, commented enthusiastically: 'Congratulations what amazing news. Love to you all. Love and hugs.' Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller added: 'Congratulations you three!! So happy for you all,' while Bradley Riches, known as Lewis Barton, wrote affectionately: 'Love you! Xxxx.'

Partner's Candid Admission About the Labor Experience

Relishing the wonder of becoming a parent for the first time, Isabel's husband Adam recently took to his own Instagram account to share additional wonderful snaps of little Georgie Grace. However, in the caption accompanying the photos, Adam made quite the surprising admission about what transpired during Isabel's labor, revealing to his followers that he actually fainted not once, but twice.

'My greatest achievement,' he began in the emotional caption. 'Watching my @isabelhodgins bring our GG into the world will stay with me forever. I have never been prouder. And yes…I fainted. Twice. Thankfully she’s the strong one.'

In the comments section, Isabel's friend and co-star Laura Norton expressed her shock at the news of Adam fainting. He then responded with further details, explaining humorously: 'Isabel had to cut the cord and reveal the gender herself.'

Background on the Pregnancy and Recent Emmerdale Storyline

The 32-year-old actress confirmed her pregnancy back in August of last year. Speaking to OK! Magazine at the time, Isabel laughed about how Adam, who is 28, was actually the one to tell her that she was expecting. 'Isabel was late by a few days, so she did a test. But then, she just threw it on the floor, and it was upside down just lying there,' Adam explained.

'I didn’t want to look at it, as I felt it would make time go slower to stare. But Mr Impatient comes along to look at it and sees that it’s positive,' Isabel joked. 'But I thought, “Surely we can’t trust it because it’s been upside down, so it might have impacted the result.” We rushed to Boots to buy three more, and they were all positive too, so we thought it must be right!'

Isabel's final scenes as Victoria Sugden aired just last week on Emmerdale. The character, which Isabel has portrayed since 2006, chose to depart life in the village for a new beginning in Portugal, alongside her son Harry and Diane Sugden. It was not an easy decision, but Victoria felt she had no alternative but to leave.

At the start of 2026, Victoria killed her brother John Sugden, played by Oliver Farnworth. Joe Tate, portrayed by Ned Porteous, managed to obtain video evidence of her covering up his death and used it as a blackmail weapon. Joe told Victoria and Robert Sugden, played by Ryan Hawley, that if they did not surrender the Sugden farmland, he would inform the police about how John truly died.

They attempted to find a way around the situation, but Victoria ultimately came to accept that a Tate had triumphed once again. Concluding that the village held too many painful memories, she bid an emotional farewell to Robert, assuring him that she would return someday.
