Corrie Spoilers: Murder, Heartbreak, and Schemes Next Week

Next week on Coronation Street, a drunken lads' night turns into a grisly discovery for Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Joe Duttine and Sally Dynevor) when Tim's cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex) is arrested for the murder of his wife. The couple takes in Richie's daughter Lucy (Anya Dewin) after her foster placement collapses, but their kindness may come at a cost. Meanwhile, Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) ends her relationship with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) to protect his career, and Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) intensifies his pressure on Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) to sell her share of Speed Daal.

Sunday, August 9: Alya's Distraction and Richie's Return

Alya, distracted by her legal career, burns Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) by rejecting his menu ideas and pushes a struggling Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) onto the floor, where Ronnie Bailey's (Vinta Morgan) sharp tongue wounds him. Idris swoops in to help Dylan, reminding Alya that his offer to buy the restaurant still stands. Richie, after his boozy night with Tim, heads home to face his wife Rachel's wrath, but returns with a hold-all after being thrown out. Tim is forced to come clean to Sally, who begrudgingly lets Richie crash on the couch.

Elsewhere, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is struck when she visits Sarah in prison and sees her bruised face, while Ronnie laments his difficulties with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) to Ed, Michael, and James.

With Sally wanting him gone, Richie tells Tim he'll head to Liverpool, but Tim urges him to fix things with Rachel. Finding Richie's wallet on the couch, Tim returns it and discovers Richie in a blood-splattered shirt with a grisly scene inside his house. Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is irked when Alya misses an important deadline, spelling out that she must choose between Speed Daal and their legal business. Knowing he's right, Alya heads to the restaurant and tells Leanne she's selling her share. Meanwhile, Sarah tells Kit that while she loves him, their relationship must end for the sake of his career.

Tim and Sally are haunted by what they've seen, and Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) visits to tell them Richie has been charged with murder, claiming self-defence, and that Lucy has been taken into care. Alya shows Gavin, a potential buyer, around the restaurant, while Idris eyes them darkly. With Gavin impressed, Idris follows him to his car. As Kit throws back vodka after Sarah's dumping, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) approaches and offers to buy him a pizza. In prison, Sarah explains to David why she broke up with Kit.

Thursday, August 13: Lucy Moves In and Fiz's Suspicions Grow

Kit agrees to stay at the flat for Harry Platt's (Joshua Leavy) sake, while Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) takes him to Little Big Shotz so Bethany can go on a date. When Kit tells Harry he's signed him up for the whole of next week, Harry is furious. When Tim and Sally learn Lucy's foster placement has collapsed, Tim arranges for her to move in. Social worker Ruth (Amy Drake) explains Lucy is suffering from grief and trauma, but Sally finds Lucy has done a runner. They locate her at the bus stop and try to convince her to come home. Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) warn Leanne that Idris is bad news, revealing he threatened Gavin, while Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) finds something in Ross's wallet that worries Fiz.

Friday, August 14: Prison Threats and a £35,000 Offer

Sarah is lifted by her new friend Kacey (Emma Matthews), but is shocked when Kacey reveals the whole wing knows her ex-boyfriend is a police officer. Kacey promises to protect Sarah after she's threatened by another inmate, and Bethany, unnerved by Kacey's staring, learns Sarah sees her as a lifeline. Lucy awakens from a nightmare, and Tim and Sally clash over guilt. Later, Lucy gets into a confrontation with Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardener) and Jodie that turns nasty. Elsewhere, Idris offers to cover Alya's lunch shift and later offers her £35,000 for her share of Speed Daal.
