First Look: Downing Street's 2025 Christmas Tree

The festive season has officially commenced at the heart of the UK government, with the majestic Christmas tree now standing proudly outside the famous black door of 10 Downing Street.

A Family Affair at Number Ten

On 28th November 2025, the annual tradition saw decorators, including Jane Ingram and her daughter, Rebecca, carefully adorning the tree on behalf of the British Christmas Tree Growers Association. A team used a scissor lift to ensure every branch, from bottom to top, was perfectly decorated.

The tree, which serves as both the Prime Minister's London residence and office, was brought to life with a classic colour palette. Photographs from the installation reveal a stunning array of red, green, silver, and gold baubles being strategically placed to create a traditional and elegant display.

London's Festive Calendar Fills Up

While the Prime Minister's residence is now adorned for the holidays, another iconic London landmark is set to follow suit. The famous Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, an annual gift from Norway, is scheduled to be erected on Thursday, 4th December 2025.

This marks the continued spread of Christmas cheer across the capital, with these two trees becoming central symbols of the capital's public celebrations.

A Symbol of the Season

The installation of the Downing Street tree is more than just a decoration; it is a powerful symbol that the holiday period has begun at the highest levels of the British state. The careful work of the decorators ensures that this historic location shares in the joy and warmth of the season with the public and visitors to London.
