kmfm has launched an online consultation inviting Kent residents to vote on four potential new radio station formats, with each proposal combining a music genre with local news, travel updates, community events, and advertising from local businesses.
The options presented in the survey are Kent’s Dance Anthems, Kent’s All Time Hits, Kent’s All New Music, and Kent’s Biggest Rock. The consultation is designed to gauge listener interest in new formats, although no decision has yet been announced about which, if any, of the proposed stations will actually launch.
Consultation marks 30th anniversary of original stations
The survey comes ahead of the 30th anniversary of the three original stations that launched in September 1997 and later became part of the kmfm network. These were Medway FM, 106 CTFM in Canterbury, and Neptune Radio, which eventually became kmfm Medway, kmfm Canterbury, and kmfm Shepway and White Cliffs Country.
Participants in the survey can also enter a prize draw to win one of seven £50 Amazon gift cards. The survey is open until November 15 and can be accessed via the kmfm website.
