Free summer events at Canada Water
Canada Water is transforming into a vibrant waterfront destination this summer with Round The Dock, a six-week programme of free entertainment. Running from July 23 to August 30, the event features live music, outdoor cinema, six independent markets, free kids and family activities, street food, and pop-up performances.
Line-up highlights
Norman Jay MBE will perform a one-off set on August 16, and Afro-Punk band Steam Down will perform throughout August. Other activities include jazz and Latin dancing, pub quizzes, poetry nights, and flea markets. All events are free and require no tickets.
Public support for waterfront events
New research commissioned by British Land found that 88 per cent of Londoners believe the capital should make more use of its rivers, docks, and waterways for free cultural events. Additionally, 53 per cent of people surveyed ranked waterside locations among their favourite places to spend time during summer. The research also showed demand for open-air cinemas (38%), free live music (34%), and more family-friendly activities, including nature workshops.
Event details
Music will be on most weekends throughout August, finishing around 5:40 pm. Creative workshops for families, including arts and crafts and cultural experiences, run until August 29. There will be garden fairs, a Black Eats Takeover on the weekend of August 22 and 23, and independent markets on August 29 and 30 to conclude the event. Crowd management measures will be in place at locations with limited space.
