Moelis Hires Jefferies' Rosedale to Lead Financial Sponsors in London
Moelis Hires Jefferies' Rosedale for London Sponsors Team

Moelis & Company has bolstered its financial sponsors team in London with the hiring of David Rosedale from Jefferies. Rosedale, who previously served as a managing director in Jefferies' financial sponsors group, will lead Moelis' coverage of private equity firms and other institutional investors across Europe.

Strategic Move to Strengthen Private Equity Ties

The appointment comes as Moelis seeks to deepen its relationships with private equity clients, a key growth area for the investment bank. Rosedale brings over 15 years of experience in financial sponsors coverage, having advised on numerous leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and M&A transactions.

Rosedale's Background

At Jefferies, Rosedale was responsible for originating and executing transactions with financial sponsors across various sectors. Prior to that, he held roles at Barclays and UBS, focusing on leveraged finance and sponsor coverage. His expertise includes structuring complex financing solutions and advising on cross-border deals.

Moelis has been expanding its European presence, particularly in London, where it competes with larger rivals like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. The bank has hired several senior bankers in recent months to strengthen its advisory capabilities.

Industry observers note that the financial sponsors sector remains active despite economic uncertainties, with private equity firms sitting on record levels of dry powder. Moelis' move to hire Rosedale signals its commitment to capturing a larger share of this business.

Rosedale will report to Michael Borkowski and Simon Witney, co-heads of European investment banking at Moelis. The bank declined to comment on the hire beyond the official announcement.

The addition of Rosedale is expected to enhance Moelis' ability to advise on large-scale leveraged buyouts and provide strategic counsel to private equity clients navigating a dynamic market environment.
