HMV to reopen larger store at Bluewater this Friday

HMV is set to open a larger store at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent this Friday, October 23, after relocating to a new unit opposite its former site. The expanded shop, located in the Upper Rose Gallery, will offer more than 25,000 products, including vinyl records, CDs, films, books, T-shirts and pop culture collectibles.

The new store will also feature a wide range of books, spanning fiction, graphic novels, manga, young adult titles and music biographies. To mark the opening, the first 50 customers to make a purchase will receive an exclusive swag bag, according to the retailer.

New location and expanded offering

The store has moved to Unit U026 in the Upper Rose Gallery, Bluewater Shopping Centre, Greenhithe, DA9 9ST. It will operate Monday to Friday from 10am to 9pm, Saturday from 9am to 9pm, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. Customers will also be able to use HMV's "hmv delivers" service, which allows them to order products not available in store for home delivery.

Phil Halliday, managing director at HMV and Fopp, said: "The new Bluewater shop looks brilliant. The team has poured so much effort into this over the past few weeks, and it shows. With more than 25,000 products on offer, the location is primed to become the premier pop culture hub in the shopping centre. We can’t wait to welcome customers in on Friday, October 23 to see all it has to offer."

Bluewater welcomes HMV's expanded presence

Bluewater centre director James Waugh highlighted HMV's long history at the shopping centre, noting the retailer has been part of Bluewater's story since day one. "The store's opening has been much anticipated, so we look forward to seeing guests explore the new space when it opens later this week," he said. The relocation comes as Bluewater continues to welcome new stores, with three new stores recently added to the centre.

The opening marks a significant expansion for HMV at Bluewater, with the new store doubling as a pop culture destination. The first 50 customers will receive a free gift bag, as part of the launch celebrations.
